Take 2 - Night time DSLR pics

So I just got myself a new Digital SLR on the 25th of May 2006. The Nikon D50 with 18-55mm lens kit to be exact.

So the night of the 27th May I ventured out into the wilderness to try and take some exciting pictures, but I failed miserably. Below is probably the best picture I managed to get, as you can see it sucked.

EXIF data-18mm, F/3.5, 2 sec, ISO 200 (I think), photo has been resized but not editing, not that any editing would help that photo.

So a couple of nights later, the 29th May I tried again, going to the same location plus a few others. The shots turned out better but there still is much room for improvement.

Below is taken from the same place I think the same settings but using the timer on the camera to take the shot. The main problem I have with this picture is the blue around the lights on the far right side, Im not sure why it has done this.

EXIF data-18mm, F/3.5, 2 sec, ISO 200 (I think), Auto WB, photo has been resized but not edited.

The next picture was take in Queenscliff near the surf lifesaving club. Its just a wall with graffiti on it. I was riding past on my bike and thought I would take a few pictures of it.

EXIF data-28mm, F/5.6, 10 sec, ISO 200 (I think), photo cropped and resized.

I jumped back on my bike and was riding from Queenscliff down the walk/bike path towards the skate park when I found this circus tent all lit up so I just had to stop and take some pics.

EXIF data-28mm, F/13, 8 sec, ISO 200 (I think), Tungsten WB, photo resized.

That was the end of night 2, taking pictures with my new camera, a bit better I though.
